Includes San Francisco By the Golden Gate (circa 1930's), Progress-Los Angeles (circa 1927), Long Beach Earthquake (1933), In the Street (1942), Manhattan (1921), Ellis Island (circa 1920's) and the Century of Progress Chicago (1933-34).
A stationary camera captures the hustle and bustle of Manhattan on Broadway at Union Square in Greenwich Village. As streetcars pass with rapid regularity, two police officers make sure that pedestrians who are crossing the street do so safely. Horse-drawn carriages pass as well. The men wear hats and ties; the lads wear caps; the women are in long skirts.
An unusual film tour of New York City: the Battery, Coney Island, Central Park, Broadway, Greenwich Village, Harlem, Riverside Drive, Fulton Fish Market, Chinatown with scenes of ancient rituals brought by many immigrants.
